Having been involved (to the point of obsession and eventual burnout) with the startup of two newspapers and many others already started, my fingers still dark with ink, I have collapsed mentally and physically, now I live with multiple disabilities that keep me homebound, unable to leave the apartment. Without the internet, I would be completely cut off from the outside world. Things I like (even if some of them I'm unable to do anymore): Warhammer 40,000: Dawn of War ( http://www.dawnofwargame.com/ ), Neverwinter Nights ( http://nwn.bioware.com/ ), whiskey, women (except for Mary Cheney, ew!), red wine, walking, talking, Apple Macintosh ( http://www.apple.com/ ), Mac OS X ( http://www.apple.com/macosx/ ), my cute little iMac ( http://www.apple.com/imac/ ), icons ( http://www.iconfactory.com/ ), mountain biking at insane speeds through downtown Seattle traffic including hill-climbing that would make even SF messers sweat, graphic design, desktop pictures, bears, kitties, napping, sleeping, comfy clothes, Mac cosmetics (http://www.maccosmetics.com/), Poême ( http://www.lancome.com/ ), everything Aveda( http://www.aveda.com/ ), and probably a lot more than this.

Started a hugely popular blog that is now totally unpopular. Made a great friend. Lost a great friend. :(

New rule, Be nice to Cassie!

Aw, thank you frstkor13, that's sweet.

I am so over oggling over women on television shows. Okay, no I'm not.

Well, I thought this thread was pretty weird, but I guess I didn't know weird cause I never knew anyone who had a God of Pork. This in rural Indiana. Maybe they had one but never told me cause I was always the outsider. No offense to anyone in Indiana, but I am *so* glad I'm outta there. On the other hand, I think they were pretty happy to get rid of me too.

cassie got disgusted with us on IRC, much to my chagrin...

"Heh. My yearbook in high school went much the same direction."
At least yours started off with a topic. Mine didn't make any sense at all. Still doesn't. It's all those crazy fools I went to high school with. I live with three of them now. One of them created a deity, if that is any indication. Porkackules, the god of Pork.

posted by Thorn on 4 Nov 2004 @ 20:01

Yes, SO HOT.

The woman who plays Kate? Evangeline Lily?

*drools*

posted by ceejayoz on 4 Nov 2004 @ 12:48

I had a lesbian co-worker once when I was a gas jockey. It was cool, we'd check out chicks together.

My Wife's cool though too, she said to me last night "I'm so glad we have the same taste in women" when discussing the hottie on Lost.

posted by ÜberJumper on 4 Nov 2004 @ 11:30

I've read theorizing that lesbians have more testosterone than straight women (all women have some) which would explain our increased interest in competitive gaming or at least the more violent games. But I don't think that's necessarily the case. I think it has more to do with us rejecting the traditional gender roles, though many straight women do that as well, probably more as there are fewer of us than there are straight women. There are bunches of women FPS clans. We're not well represented in any of the "hardcore" games, but much less so in RTS games. Then again, I'm not playing DoW because it's an RTS, I'm playing it because I love stompy robots, rumbly tanks, zoomy grav tanks, and Howling Banshees.

I don't know where Cassie has gone, but I hope she's doing fine and enjoying her gaming. She's a Homeworld player, right? So, I would assume she's still got a forum profile. Maybe I'll investigate... Or maybe not, I don't want to invade her privacy if that's what she's seeking by deleting her profile here. Or maybe she's just going to remake it because she mentioned something about having lost the password.

Does anyone know what actually happened to cassie?

posted by El Russo on 4 Nov 2004 @ 7:54

bah, why do only gay chicks like gaming?

its really not very helpful to us geeks ;p

I noticed those clues, but didn't want to comment for fear of misinterpreting. :-p

posted by ceejayoz on 3 Nov 2004 @ 15:13

Not that by leaving mine here is asking for any attention at all. Wanted or unwanted. Anyway, see sexual preference clues hidden in personal bio. So, unless someone wants to play DoW, that's the only reason to get in contact with me. (And it's easier to just find me on #ausdow which is where I'll be if I wanna play.)

posted by Hanna on 3 Nov 2004 @ 13:16

Aw. Well, she's like fifty times cuter than me. That prolly brought on a lot of unwanted attention. :(

posted by Hanna on 3 Nov 2004 @ 13:12

cassieg apparently deleted her photo.

posted by ceejayoz on 3 Nov 2004 @ 12:42

And what happened to Cassie G's profile?!?!

posted by Hanna on 3 Nov 2004 @ 11:39

Heh. My yearbook in high school went much the same direction. ;)

posted by Hanna on 3 Nov 2004 @ 11:36

wow, we can even drag yearbook entries off topic. nice.

The Republic is teh book. Read it two weeks ago for my course at uni. Plato steals Socrates' soul in that book.

posted by jetfx on 2 Nov 2004 @ 22:18

I have been reading Teh Republic recently. Socrates got on my tits.

posted by El Russo on 2 Nov 2004 @ 20:39

El Russo, that sounds like Plato. If it is, I'm going to have to beat you senseless with incomprehensible forms.

Yay! I'm a popular girl which I was so totally *not* in high-school.

Friends 4ever! *muwah!*

Murph: You sent me one! I sent you one back, you sent me one again, I will send one back soon, I swear!

El Russo: Um, because the camera stole my soul? Someone find that camera so I can get my soul back! Dangit, it was a disposable!?!? I am going to spend eternity haunting rubbish dumps and landfills. Great, that's a step up for me! Beats being a chicken in the next life.

posted by Hanna on 1 Nov 2004 @ 12:46

HIES :D

posted by ani on 1 Nov 2004 @ 9:17

Oh noes, Russo started a philosophical discussion.

posted by Moe on 1 Nov 2004 @ 4:29

I'd challenge you to prove how a photo of you in a mirror is any less "you" than an actual photo of you, but meh...

OMG..

If you lot still play NWN, PM me on teh forums.

Nubs.

This is turning into a mini forum...

Neverwinter Nights rules!

posted by jetfx on 31 Oct 2004 @ 23:34

Oh wait! I get it! My picture looks like I'm hypnotizing myself. *blushes* Actually, it's from my terribly vain years when I was all femme and shit. I'm looking into a mirror and checking my eyeliner. A friend snapped the photo, that's actually my reflection, not me at all.

posted by Hanna on 31 Oct 2004 @ 23:22

Sadly, it failed miserably as I... wait a second, I never tried self-hypnosis at all. Why you little... *shakes fist menacingly* ;)

posted by Hanna on 31 Oct 2004 @ 23:19

I'll go with whatever your definition is...

posted by El Russo on 31 Oct 2004 @ 22:47

Yay! We have to start a secret community of Dawn of War / Neverwinter Nights fanatics. What a totally weird mix of games to play, huh?

posted by Hanna on 31 Oct 2004 @ 22:42

You still play Neverwinter Nights? Me too!

posted by Murph on 31 Oct 2004 @ 22:40

I suppose that depends on your definition of "successful". ;)

posted by Hanna on 31 Oct 2004 @ 22:38

Was your self-hypnosis successful in the end?
